JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Planned Parenthood Great Rivers (PPGR), working in partnership with Beacon Reproductive Health Network, will bring PPGR’s mobile health clinic to Jefferson City on Monday, October 12th, making sexual and reproductive healthcare more accessible directly within the community.
The mobile clinic will operate from Beacon’s Jefferson City office and provide vasectomies, multiple forms of birth control including emergency contraception, as well as STI testing and treatment. All services will be available through pre-scheduled appointments only.
Many people living in Jefferson City currently need to travel outside the community to receive a full range of sexual and reproductive healthcare services. PPGR’s mobile clinic aims to reduce this access barrier by bringing affordable, high-quality healthcare closer to local patients.
Michelle Trupiano, Executive Director of Beacon Reproductive Health Network, said that everyone should have access to affordable and compassionate sexual and reproductive healthcare without judgment. She explained that Beacon regularly connects Missouri residents to quality healthcare through its statewide network of health centers and partners. According to Trupiano, bringing PPGR’s mobile clinic to Jefferson City represents another collaborative effort to maintain access and make necessary healthcare easier for residents to receive.
PPGR’s healthcare professionals will provide several services through the mobile clinic, including IUDs, contraceptive implants and other birth-control options, vasectomies, and STI testing and treatment.
Dr. Margaret Baum, Chief Medical Officer of Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, noted that although Jefferson City is Missouri’s capital, access to sexual and reproductive healthcare remains limited for many residents. She said the partnership with Beacon Reproductive Health Network allows the mobile unit to help close this gap by bringing healthcare closer to the people who need it.
The partnership forms part of Beacon’s wider commitment to strengthening and maintaining Missouri’s sexual and reproductive healthcare system. Beacon supports health centers across the state and collaborates with healthcare providers and community organizations to improve access to affordable, high-quality services within local communities.
